On Friday the 6th of November, it will become illegal to have or share porn that shows any form of strangulation or suffocation, adults role-playing incest, and adults pretending to be under the age of consent.
Anyone with this type of porn saved on their computer or device has been told to delete it before the 6th of November. It will then be illegal to attempt to access this type of porn after the 6th of November.
If these are not deleted, the Police can take action against people in line with the Crime and Policing Act 2026.
Alex Davies-Jones, Minister for Victims, said that the government ‘wasn’t looking to kink shame anyone’, but wanted to ‘send a message’ to members of the public who might think violence in sex is normal.
She said, “With the adults cosplaying as children – this could be anything from dressing up in young girls’ clothing, having sex in a child’s bedroom or using cuddly toys. Anything that makes them look like children, or people under 16 – that will be illegal.”
