Counselling & Psychotherapy

Back

Our ‘Break The Silence’ counselling and psychotherapy services present an opportunity for you to discuss and explore your experiences within the safety of a confidential, therapeutic relationship, without fear of judgement. The aims of this treatment process are to assist you in making sense of your unique experiences, and address symptoms of unresolved trauma. New strategies for responding and coping may then be developed, allowing you to make constructive changes, regain control of your life and create positive futures.

Our therapy team come from a wide range of models, with the majority integrative based, and are all fully qualified, and experienced in working with sexualised trauma. Each are registered members of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), The UK Council for Psychotherapy or British Psychological Society and adhere to the ethical guidelines of their governing body.

We Are Survivors itself is an organisational member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and commits to ensuring that all its therapists adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.

All our therapy services are free at point of access for those living in Manchester (thanks to Manchester Clinical Commissioning Group); and those in Bolton, Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford and Wigan thanks to the Home Office and Ministry of Justice.

Following a comprehensive assessment, you will be offered a maximum of 20 weekly sessions that will last an hour and will be reviewed every 3 session.

As with all our services, we regularly monitor the effectiveness of our services and one way we do this is through the collection and recording of particular questionnaires, which also make our service IAPT compliant. To read about IAPT and the standards implemented by the NHS, please click here.
