Hollyoaks Supports 1 in 5

Back

Our good friends at Channel 4’s Hollyoaks, produced by Lime Pictures, have always been incredibly supportive of what we have done to raise awareness of male sexual abuse, of child abuse and of mental health. So when we undertook a piece of work with Edge Hill University and the ‘Sports Respects Your Rights’ student team to raise awareness of the 1 in 5 children in Europe that experience sexual abuse we knew that we could rely on our Merseyside/Cheshire pals.

To represent the 1 in 5, the Sports Respects Your Rights student team came up with a neat signal that anyone could do which involved placing 1 finger in the palm of the other open hand, signalling the 1 in 5.

Some of the cast took to it so quickly and before we knew it, we were inundated with selfies and photos from all over the village. Take a look at some of the cast’s pics below:

As always, we are incredibly grateful to the cast and crew at Hollyoaks for all their support to ensure we do everything we can to end child sexual abuse.
