As we say goodbye to Summer, we’re reflecting on what was an amazing time for our joint harm-reduction campaign with George House Trust – ON IT. Specifically our participation in the Manchester Pride Parade.
The Pride Parade is always an uplifting event, and an opportunity to show the people of Manchester – and the thousands of tourists and visitors – the importance of community and sharing messages of support and wellbeing. After the success of our ON IT Parade entry in 2024, where 50 people marched with our banners and placards, this year we were able to attract 100 people!
With a hearty breakfast and briefing event at our Community Space in the morning, we all set off the Parade meeting point before setting off on the hour-long Parade through Manchester City Centre. Luckily we were placed directly behind our friends at George House Trust in the Parade order, and it was such a thrill to hear the cheers of support from the crowd across the Parade route. Luckily, the weather held out for us and the atmosphere was charged with positivity and smiles.
With our ON IT placards proudly proclaiming ‘YES MEANS YES’, along with the campaign website address – we were able to share the campaign message with tens of thousands of people. Have a look at some of the pictures from the day, and check out the brilliant music video we made on the day! Fancy joining us again next year?
